Set forth below is the text of an e-mail that I recently received from Sam, a site visitor.
“It has been a couple of years since I last contacted you. Your site and RobCasts helped me make it through the 2007-2009 crash and re-think my allocation strategy, and the P/E10 has been a wonderful metric to withdraw emotions from the investment process and thereby act more rationally and intelligently. Today the P/E10 is about 19 and I am 45% stocks, 45% cash, 10% junk bonds. I am 48 and plan to work at least 15 more years. My wife and I are Savers, and our nest egg is far too large to leave our investments to the so-called professionals and/or to emotions.”
