I’ve posted Entry #68 to my weekly Investing: The New Rules column at the Death by 1,000 Papercuts site. It’s called The Stock Market Is a Political Institution.
Juicy Excerpt: The stock market is the most important entity in a free market economy. It’s more important than the White House or the Congress or the Supreme Court. People care about the laws that are passed and implemented and interpreted in their society. But they care more about what happens to their money.
How the stock market behaves determines how much money we all have to engage in our pursuits of happiness. The stock market affects us all in a more personal and practical and far-reaching way than does most of what happens in the White House or in the Congress or in the Supreme Court.
Programming Note: The blog will return on Monday, September 12, 2011. Goodbye, Summer!
