I’ve posted Entry #67 to my weekly Beyond Buy-and-Hold column at the Out of Your Rut site. It’s called It Takes a Tough Man to Put Forward Sound Investing Advice.
Juicy Excerpt: He really did use the word “bully” in the conversation. He also used the word “intimidating.” He said that he didn’t think that either word properly described me. He wasn’t able to think of the precise word that fits. But those were the two that came to his mind. If I am not quite a bully, I am something close to it. This is according to a friend of mine! This is according to a supporter!

I don’t see you as a “bully”. Ralph Waldo Emerson advised,
“Speak what you think today in hard words and tomorrow speak what tomorrow thinks in hard words again, though it contradict every thing you said today.”
Point is that force and passion and conviction are not in themselves bad things when making arguments.
Now, tact is also important, I think. And using the fewest words possible to make a point. These are things I also respect.
But passion and strongly argued points in themselves don’t feel like bullying to me. But if I feel bullied by someone (not something that happens much), I’ll always be able to point out precisely why.

Thanks, Arty.
It’s never been my intention to bully anyone.

I don’t see you as a bully either. You are evasive, deflective, passive aggressive, monotonous, deluded, and verbose.

Thanks, What!
I think.
