I’ve posted Entry #108 to my weekly Investing: The New Rules column at the Death by 1,000 Papercuts site. It’s titled Investing Dogmatism Has Its Roots in Self-Doubt.
Juicy Excerpt: Did you ever find yourself in an argument in which you found yourself getting more and more worked up the more evidence there was presented showing the weakness of your case? We humans are not truth-seekers. We are pride-protectors. We can live with being wrong. We view it as just one of those things. We cannot bear having to acknowledge being wrong. It’s embarrassing. We’d rather remain in the wrong than acknowledge a mistake and thereby move on to a better understanding.
