Get Rich Slowly Moderators Shut Down Discussion of the Flaws of Buy-and-Hold Investing

Set forth below is the text of an e-mail that I sent to J.D. Roth, owner of the Get Rich Slowly blog and forum, on February 6. J.D. has not responded to the e-mail. The two threads that J.D. was trying to shut down (he was successful) were entitled Why Buy-and-Hold Investing Can Never Work and J.D. Roth-Requested Thread on The Future of Investing (Yes, J.D. asked me to start this thread — his aim at the time was to kill a discussion that had begun at his blog on the same topic by having it moved to the forum).

J.D.:

Schroeder put forward a claim re your forum at the Goon Central board last night. He said that he received a Private Message from a moderator saying: “Schroeder- The best thing for the Get Rich Slowly Forums at this point is to simply ignore Rob Bennett. Moderators will spread the word through Private Messages, and hopefully he will just quit posting if nobody responds to his posts. Your cooperation in this effort would be much appreciated.”

I will be reporting on this at my blog. I would be grateful if you would let me know if the claim is accurate or not.
