Set forth below is the text of a comment that a poster named “Wab” (he used to post with me at the Early Retirement Forum and is now one of the Greaney Goons) recently put to another blog entry at this site:
Why haven’t you responded to the many questions that I have put forward that are each at least 500 times more important than the matter you keep bringing up?
Because I’ve dealt with the mentally ill before, and I’ve found that they can sometimes be reasonable if gently redirected.
Rob, take this as friendly advice — your condition can be managed with meds. You’re a smart and articulate guy, and you could be making valuable contributions to this discussion.

Have you ever attempted to get help Rob?
Rob says
I wrote to my good friend Jack Bogle and asked him to deal with The Mel Linduaer Matter, Anonymous.
I did not receive a response.
I still love the guy. But that is obviously not something that I look forward to testifying to when it comes my turn to testify.
I believe strongly that, if all of Jack’s friends got involved, we could push him over the line and bring the ugly side of this to a full and complete stop by the close of business today.
Can we count on your support, my old friend?

I agree with Wab that some things can be treated by meds. However, some cases needed counseling as well.
What will it take for you to finally take action on getting that mental help, Rob? Last I checked, Jack Bogle is not a mental health professional.

It would take 500 years of “counseling” to persuade me that there is some alternative universe in which it might be okay for me to post dishonestly re the numbers that my friends use to plan their retirements, Pink.
I don’t have that much time.
I am afraid that I am just going to have to continue posting honestly and make the best of it.
My best and warmest wishes to you.
