Set forth below is the text of a comment that I recently posted to the discussion thread for another blog entry at this site:
You keep telling us about criminal acts, yet never provide links to those acts. Why would anyone believe you without proof?
The easiest way to find out if there has been some funny business going on is to check how long it took Greaney to correct the error in his retirement study after it was pointed out to him.

The easiest way if for you to post actual evidence. You made up the death threats story. We found out that it was a discussion on personal protection and firearm safety. Here is the link:

Okay, Anonymous.
Please take good care.
Rob
Feel free to point out an ACTUAL threat.
Your link does the job, Anonymous.
If that’s what it takes to “defend” Buy-and-Hold, I want no part of it.
My best and warmest wishes to you and yours.
Rob
There is no threat in the link. Perhaps you would like to point out the actual words that you say are a threat against you.
It’s plain enough to anyone who reads the words that appear in their computer screen when they click on the link.
Just as it is plain enough to anyone who knows that there is now 41 years of peer-reviewed research showing that valuations affect long-term returns that there is precisely zero chance that any strategy that does not call for investors to adjust their stock allocation when valuations change could produce long-term success.
The intellectual case against Get Rich Quick/Buy-and-Hold is rock solid. The problem is that the EMOTIONAL case in favor of them is intense and super strong when the CAPE value is what it is today. If a lower CAPE value (which Shiller’s research shows is coming sooner or later) diminishes the appeal of Buy-and-Hold/Get Rich Quick enough for us to get every internet site opened to honest posting re the last 41 years of peer-reviewed research, we are on our way to experiencing the greatest surge of economic growth in our nation’s history. I don’t believe that there will be anyone looking back with fondness at the Buy-and-Hold/Get Rich Quick days then.
But I am not God. I could be wrong. We’ll see, you know?
Rob
“ It’s plain enough to anyone who reads the words that appear in their computer screen when they click on the link.”
We read the words. There is no threat and that is why you cannot point at any specific words.
Okay.
My best wishes.
Rob
