Set forth below is the text of a comment that I recently posted to the discussion thread for another blog entry at this site:
We know what Bogle thought. You do as well. We remember you calling Bogle a Con-man. We remember you wanting to attend a Bogleheads meeting so that you could troll him. You have no credentials. You lack any formal education in the field. You have a failed retirement. It’s like some kid in middle school who thinks he should be able to teach the New York Yankees how to play baseball.
You need to watch MoneyBall.
Things change. People learn new things. Those who have the most invested in the old understanding are the least open to the new understanding.

Yet you have leaned nothing in the last 30 years.
I couldn’t write a column for the Value Walk site every week if I were not learning new things about how stock investing works all the time. We all should be learning new things every day. We should be permitting honest posting re the last 41 years of peer-reviewed research at every site, without a single exception.
My sincere take.
Rob
There is nothing new in your ValueWalk articles. They are all repeats of the same thing.
Every word that I have written over the past 20 years is rooted in my belief in Shiller’s Nobel-prize-winning research funding that valuations affect long-term returns. As his book’s subtitle indicates, that one was “revolutionary.” It changes everything that we once believed we knew about how stock investing works.
My best and warmest wishes to you and yours, Anonymous.
Rob
Like I said, you have learned nothing new, nor have you posted anything new. You are just rehashing the same faulty thinking.
Everything that I have siad for 20 years now is based on the same line of thinking, that much is fair to say. I believe that, once we agree as a nation to open every site to honest posting re the last 41 years of peer-reviewed research, we all will be living better and fuller and richer lives as a result. I see that as a good thing. I think we should go for it. Valuation-Informed Indexing sure ain’t nothing like Buy-and-Hold!
Rob
Let’s make this simple. Name just one thing new you have come up with in the last year?
